Seatiger Shipwreck
Depth: 85 - 128 Feet / 26 - 38 Meters
Skill Level: Intermediate / Advanced
The Seatiger shipwreck, like the Yo-257 and San Pedro shipwrecks, were sunk by the submarine tour companies during the 90's so they would have something to look at during their underwater tours. Fortunately for all of us scuba divers, they sunk all of these wrecks in depths perfect for recreational scuba diving.
The Seatiger, a Chinese cargo vessel, was confiscated by the United States Coast Guard for smuggling immigrants into the country. Eventually it was sold off and scuttled by the submarine tour companies. The top decks of the Seatiger sit at roughly 85-95 feet, with the ships bottom at roughly 128 feet. Vessel length is approximately 180 feet. As with most wrecks, the metals have been worn down over time and sharp edges and hazardous areas are common. Caution should be used when entering this wreck.
Common sightings include white tip reef sharks, turtles, eels, and eagle rays. This site is the closest wreck diving site to Waikiki at only a 10 minute boat ride from Kewalo Basin boat harbor. Join Reef Pirates Diving for the best wreck diving Oahu has to offer.
