Spitting Caves
Depth: 45 - 65 Feet / 13 - 20 Meters
Skill Level: Intermediate / Advanced
Spitting Caves is one of the premier drift dives on Oahu. Located along Portlock Wall, the Spitting Caves dive site, like big sea cave, is a great place for a chance encounter with the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. White tip reef sharks can also been seen at this site with regularity. Eagle Rays, large eels, frog fish, and turtles are all common sightings here as well.
Because of its location (i.e. Outside of the bay, with little protection), conditions often determine whether this dive is doable or not. When conditions are good, this is one of the best dives on Oahu. When conditions are not good, diving this area becomes very dangerous. During winter months, you can hear the whale songs echo off the wall. Come join Reef Pirates Diving and experience the Spitting Caves drift dive for yourself. You'll be happy you did!
